Website submissions to SE
Will the crawlers crawl our sites only if we submit our websites to search engine? Or once the site is online the crawlers start crawling our sites? And what are the SEO unfriendly URL's?

As far as I'm concerned there is never a need to submit your site to a search engine, all you ever need to do is build good quality links to your site. Crawlers will eventually follow these links and visit your site.
Links can come from related sites, blogs, forums, directories, really anything that is on topic. SEO unfriendly URLs generally refer to URLs with parameters in them e.g. index.php?a=2&b=5&c=4, 1 parameter shouldn't cause too much dramas because search engines are quite smart, having said that I avoid all parameters when possible.

Yes, i agree that with the help of SEO we can make our website known to the outside world through search engines. Usually when people search in search engines they go through only 3 or 4 pages. And only if our website is within 3 or 4 pages ie within 30 or 40 rankings, people will come to know about our website and go through it. Ranking in 80th or 90th positions does not mean that our website is known to others. Our website will get a hit only if it is in reach of people's eyes (top positions) and for that SEO is important.
