Why backup multiple times per day?

We are often asked why we provide multiple time per day backups for our web hosting clients when other hosts backup only once per day or maybe even only once per month.

In the modern internet websites are now often more than just a few simple pages that change now and then they are dynamic beasts that can take data from multiple sources including users and then change continuously to present this new data.

Web Hosting Affiliate Scheme

TOLRA has been working on an affiliate program and we are now ready to open the doors and start accepting affiliates.

Affiliates are provided with the HTML for various premade ads which can then be placed on the affiliates website. When clicked the affiliate is credited for the click and if the visitor purchase from web hosting or a script from TOLRA the affiliate is credited with the commission fee.

Is your UK hosting really in the UK?

As Search Engine Optimisers (SEOs) will tell you the geographic location of your site can affect your ranking in local search results. That being the case the general rule of thumb is the sites wishing to rank for UK visitors should be located in the UK and sites wishing to rank for US visitors should be located in the US.

Unmetered is not unlimited

During my normal daily read of forums I came across yet another web host offering unlimited bandwidth for some extremely low cost per month.

Their explanation of how they can offer unlimited bandwidth is that their servers are connected to 100mbps unmetered ports. They seem to have completely ignored the difference between unmetered and unlimited either through ignorance or in order to make their offering sound better than it is to the general public.
